The Town & Country Kennel and Cattery was founded in Cincinnati in 1987. Health, safety and comfort were the guidelines as we designed our facilities. Our committed staff and specialized facilities result in an environment that promotes a healthy, safe, and comfortable facility for our guests.
We are located conveniently in the Mt. Healthy area, but our 10 acre site feels more like a country setting. The main facility is a brick and cedar building that is home to 63 indoor/outdoor units for dogs and a dedicated cattery with 26 units. There are on-site accommodations for employees who are at the kennel after hours to care for the pets. A perimeter fence surrounds the facility for extra security. Heat and smoke detectors are located throughout the buildings, and we have fire extinguishers and an evacuation plan just in case. The local fire and police departments also have the plans for Town & Country.
We set appointments for the arrival and departure of your pets in order to provide the attention that you deserve. All units are cleaned and prepared for your pet before you arrive. When you drop your pet off, we have two private check-in rooms to allow us to review your pet’s needs in detail. We strongly recommend that you bring a personal item from home (something with home scent). This allows your pet to feel ownership and comfort in the new environment. This "security scent" from home is simple but very effective. Any personal belongings, medical treatments, custom diets, special attention needs, or important information (such as contact phone numbers) are carefully noted during the check-in process. All pets must have current shot records and are examined as they enter the facility.
Another important ingredient for an enjoyable visit is maintaining your pet’s normal diet. We proudly offer Pedigree adult dry and canned food. Of course, as always, you may bring your pet’s food from home if you wish. We have a full kitchen with a microwave oven in order to defrost and prepare special foods. We use stainless steel feeding bowls, which are sanitized after each feeding. You must provide any prescription diets, special foods, and supplements. Fresh water is available 24 hours a day in every unit. We have a full laundry facility to wash blankets, beds, etc….
Each pet’s behavior and appearance is charted on a daily basis. Food, water, urine, stool, personality, and physical condition are observed, and we will notify you of any items that are not within normal limits. In the case of a concern, we will take the appropriate measures to provide veterinary care for your pet. This is discussed in more detail during the check-in. We have an isolation area with its own environmental control and air handling system. This area allows us to isolate a pet and provide a quiet location for observation.
Come and visit our playroom, the "Town & Country Dog Park"! Your pet will receive personalized one-on-one attention with one of our staff. We play fetch, tug-of-war, give tummy rubs, and lots of snuggles.
Professionally caring for your "four footer" is only a part of what we do well. We take a lot of pride in the fact that our owners can leave town relaxed and have confidence in Town & Country’s ability to care for their important family member. Touring is an important part of successful pet boarding.
